Clonard Road Club

Clonard Road Club (CRC) is a road cycling club located in Clonard, Co. Meath. The club was re-formed in early 2009 by local sports people and cyclists who raced in previous guises of the club.

The club currently has about 80 club members from all areas of road cycling. The club caters for beginners through to veterans and has a number of members racing in road racing events.

You will easily recognise our club members wearing our distinctive red, green and white club jersey with images of the two churches and the mount of Clonard. The jersey also displays all our club sponsors which we would like to thank for their continued support.

We run a number of cycles during the week catering from beginners through to training cycles, and also spins for Women:

Weekends:

Sunday: We run a Sunday morning cycle all year round which starts at 9am.  The pace is controlled at approx 25km/h which will suit most levels of ability.  The spin lasts for about 2hrs or so.
A more advanced level spin starts at 8am, also from Mother Hubbards. You will need a good level of fitness to complete this cycle.

Women: We also run a spin for especially for women, meeting most Sunday mornings, at 9am (again from Mother Hubbards).  See the women's page for details.

Weekdays:

Tuesday & Thursday:
From April to September we meet on a Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:45pm at Mother Hubbards.
Our Thursday evening spins are more leisurely, and are aimed at building fitness and increasing overall bike skills.
Our Tuesday evening spins are faster and cover greater distances, and are used for training by club members.

Routes:
We usually follow a number of routes, each route offering a mixture of terrain and difficulty. You can view more details on some of our cycles on our cycle routes page. You will need a road bike or hybrid bike to comfortable complete the cycle routes.

**NB**
Everyone participating in club spins
is required to wear a cycle helmet.

Winter fitness:
We also hold evening spinning classes in the community hall in Clonard Village.  These take place on Monday's throughout the winter months.
