Club League race 1 - time trial

The first round of the Club League was a 16k time trial held on 24th April.

Congratulations to everyone who took part, and especially to GER DUNNE for a fantastic performance to take first place with a time of 24:31.

Here are some superb photos taken by Michelle Kavanagh on the night - well done Michelle!  These all came out REALLY well.  View the photos in full-screen mode to appreciate them fully! (icon on bottom right of screen when in play mode).

Ger now leads the 2012 league, scoring the maximum 25 points for first place.  Here are all the riders, results, times and average speeds for the night:

Special thanks to everyone who turned out to lend a hand - from photographers, to marshaling, to helping out at the finish - great job!

Riders set off at 1 minute intervals on a fast route from Kinnegad to Milltownpass on the old Dublin to Galway Road returning on the same route to finish at Kinnegad.

Start/Finish line was after the last roundabout leaving Kinnegad for Milltownpass.

Tips for warming up correctly can be found here.  Warming up correctly is very important, not only to get the best performance out of yourself, but also to avoid possible injury by trying to ride the race from a 'fresh', rested state (see here for some of the science behind it all).
